Oncidium maculatum
Relatively large flowers for Oncidium on this Mexican and Central American very perfumed species. I like very much Oncidium species that have white lips.

Very nice. I have never seen the real flowers of this species.

Those are beautiful flowers, Mauro--and I like the white-lipped oncidiums also. Can you provide some cultural information for your plant, please--light, water, temperature, etc.?

Dear Mauro,
You'll be appy to know that your plant is the true Oncidium aculatum. There are 3 very closely related species that are often misidentified - the others are O. hintoni and D. lindleyi. The taxonomy was excellently worked out in Orquidea(Mex.) 12:297-316.1992. A lovely thing, Eric |
It is gorgeous Mauro! I agree with you, the white lip looks super nice. Looks like has Santa's beard.:coverlaugh:

and if my keyboard didn't stick it would be true Oncidium maculatum, not aculatum.
Sorry about that, Eric |
