Aloha From the Big Island!
Aloha,
I am new to this board and just wanted to say Hello. My wife and I are starting to get our Orchid collection going again. I built a 10X8' shade house and 2 benches 6.5 feet X 2 feet with room to add another bench. We have over 50 Orchids at this time and find great pleasure with them. My profile picture and avatar pic is my oldest plant it is a Bl. Richard Mueller X Lc. "Trick or Treat" it is now 18 years old and still going fine in spite of my lack of care of it. I just got it back to good health after neglecting it for so long. I will take much better care of it and all the new plants from now on. I know I will have many questions soon. Aloha for now. Welcome to the board, folks. I have spent time in Waikablowa not far south of you. I love the Big Island and hope to see pics of your 'chids.

Well now Cattleya hybrids have taken on new names -- Oh joy! :faint:
Bl. Richard Mueller is now Brassophronitis Richard Mueller and Lc. Trick or Treat is now Sophranthe Trick or Treat and Sophranthe (Lc.) Trick or Treat has Cattleya (which is now Guarianthe) aurantiaca as a grandparent .. Good eyes .. Kiki ;) Many people haven't resorted to the name changes .. I found the old ones much easier to distinguish the background of the hybrid but heck .. I'm just a humble orchid servant :bowing :coverlaugh: BTW - :welcome: Kona's Gold! Glad you joined us at the OB :) |
Wow, Dorothy, you are amazing! That was impressive. I still have no idea how you do that. Like pulling a rabbit out of a hat! :)

Aloha Roland and Sissy! :waving I've been to Kona twice and really enjoyed it. We're snorkel dorks so our favorite spots are Two Step and K-Bay. :) Love having dinner and drinks at Huggos. My other favorite spot is the Botanical Garden on the scenic drive. Welcome to OB! Richard Mueller hybrids are my favorite catt crosses. I love spots!
