Well, the lead you see sticking out to the left now has a bright red bud sticking out from it! :cheer: It figures, since I'm leaving for two weeks tomorrow. My son is taking care of things (hopefully) while I'm gone, so he'll enjoy this guy. BTW, how long (on avearage) does it take between first emergence and full open?

I can't really tell how small the buds are, but if it is blooming when you get back I'd be surprised. Plus the flowers last a good long time. You will get to enjoy it too.

There is one bud maybe 1-2mm in dia. sticking out on a stalk. It's very deep and brilliant red.

That won't be too long before it opens. Hopefully it lasts long enough for you to see whn you get back. (It should)
