Rick Wright

Don't know if he even liked orchids, but it doesn't matter. Rick Wright (the keyboards player for Pink Floyd) died today, at the youthful age of 65. I know that MY orchids are in deep mourning.

That's a bummer. One of my fav bands of all time. That band in rock n roll heaven keeps getting better and better

I was sorry to read this in the news today. Oh the memories of that band back in the day.

I think I remember having some REALLY good times listening to Floyd :scratchhead:

My friends and I used to go to the Hayden Planetarium in Manhattan every weekend to see the laser light show which was set to Pink Floyd music...v-e-r-y cool! Man, that was a long time ago!!!

RIP Rick :tombstone:

I am so sad right now. I remember I started listening to them with A Saucerful of Secrets...and have seen the group live. Rick Wright was a genius, as not only the keyboardist, but as the founder and main lyricist of the band.

I even have a Vanda Pink Floyd in my collection, that I bought simply for the name. It's turned out to be a fantastic bloomer, and smells great too...sort of like vanilla extract. Although it's not a great shot, here's a photo as a tribute to Rick. This photo was taken a day or two after the flowers opened...they get a deeper shade of yellow as they mature.

Gorgeous vanda...and very nice tribute, David
