Is this even an Orchid?

Sorry about the ignorance here. I spent a bit of time this summer hiking in the German Alps near our home. I took quite a few photos of some wild orchids, but somehow, this computer only seems to have this one. And, I don't even know for sure if it is an orchid at all! But it sure is pretty.

Anyway, perhaps I could get some tips on how to photograph orchids in a way that will make identifying them possible.

Have fun looking at these!

I go hiking in the French Alps often, and I think I've seen the same one. It's not an orchid. For sure it's an Aconitum, I think it may be Aconitum variegatum which is also called Aconitum paniculatum
I hope you find your other photos, I would love to see them. If you're interested, I have pics of alpine orchids in my gallery.

Your gallery has some stunning pictures in it. Congratulations on capturing such beautiful examples for us to see. I haven't got nearly anything quite so spectacular. However, now that I know what i am looking for...

Thanks :blushing: They're easy to spot only if you know where to look. I wouldn't have seen so many if I didn't have friends that knew all the good spots! June is the best period for seeing them. You see the end of the early bloomers and the beginning of the summer bloomers. Can't wait for next summer!!

Is this an orchid

Hi
I have seen your pic - it is very pretty, but I do not think it is an orchid, especially not from the area mentioned. I have no idea what it could be, sorry.
