Correct dosage for Thiomyl?
What is the correct dosage for thiomyl?
I think I have rotted the roots off of several of my paphs growing in semi-hydro, and am planning on spraying the leaves and filling the containers with thiomyl solution to help stop the problem. I am confused after reading the label as to how much thiomyl to use. Also, how long should I leave the solution in the semi-hydro pots? Some people have told me that I should pour hydrogen peroxide in the crowns and in the pots and then sprinkle the plants (and roots that I can get to) with cinnamon instead of using thiomyl. Thoughts? |
I have no thoughts on the cinnamon, but the Thiomyl concentration I use is 3/4 tsp powder per quart RO water. I usually mix a tiny bit of soap in to help things along.

Thanks, Ross.
I am planning on spraying and drenching. Would you recommend leaving the thiomyl solution in the pot until next time I water (about a week)? |
Yes. Spray leaves as well (both sides). That will leave white splotches (the wetable powder) but nothing to worry about. Might do this again in another week. Mixed spray keeps a long time in the bottle.

Thanks for all of you help.
Ross...what kind of soap would you use and how much? Is regular household softsoap ok? I have insecticidal soap or stuff like 409 as well...or just regular dishwashing liquid. |
