Will fungicide/ insecticidal soap hurt spike/ blossoms?
Hi :)
Two of my orchids are being sprayed, one with Safer's sulfur-based fungicide called 'Defender', and the other is being sprayed with Safers' insecticidal soap unfortunately I just discovered that they are sending out flowers spikes. Could the spikes/ buds be harmed by the sprays? (I have been spraying them for about every week for about a month) Thanks:) Cam |
I haven't had a problem with Safers, but I have had a problem with canola oil based sprays.

Yup, I'm with Ross.

Good :)
Thanks! |
I've never had a problem with Safer's - insecticidal soap or Trounce. Odontoglossum Anna Claire has seen several treatments and no adverse effects in the last 2 months; same with NOID phal hybrids, Angraecoids.

I routinely spray with RD-20, spikes, plants, flowers, whatever is in the scope of the spray gets wet and I find the flower, especially last longer without turning spotted from fungus and I've not had deformed flowers on new spikes,,,,:twocents: :twocents:

can you use safers on roos?
|
a little wouldn't hurt, but why would you unpot and spray the roots?
|
I have these little black hard shell mites on my plant and they always hangout in the root system, is there another more practical methods of handling them?

I would soak your entire pot/plant in Bayer 3-In-1 Insecticide diluted as per the instructions. I use it all the time and have never had a problem... and it kills lots of stuff!
