Blc. Wanda's Fire
Can't find information on the correct amount of light needed to have this orchid flower. Won it at an orchid draw and I keep it in a western window sill. Remember I live in the Canadian Northwest and the light is not always the best. Do I need florescent lighting? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
It is an indoor orchid..... Thanks, Faz |
A Blc. is a Cattleya Alliance hybird consisting of Brassovola, Laelia and Cattleya
Because of name changes in taxomony - Your Blc (Brassolaeliacattleya) is now a Thwaitesara (Thw.) which is an hybrid comprising of Cattleya, Guarianthe, Rhyncholaelia and Sophronitis. So leave it as Blc. but note the Thw. for future reference. It will do great if you had a southern exposure as Catts love strong bright light. I can be slowly introduced into sunlight as sudden light intensity can burn it. I'm not sure about supplemental lighting but I am sure others will advise you on that :D |
BTW - It's an awesome orange beauty!
Check out it's photo here - Blc Wanda's Fire (Blc Fuchs Orange Nuggett x Blc Orange Nuggett) pictures from flowers photos on webshots |
