Cattleya loddigesii

This is a selfing of Cattleya loddigesii 'Aranda' AM/AOS. It is nice, but today we have way better loddigesii!

I would be happy to own that one

I like the ruffles in the lip Mauro, though it's a little too light pink for my tastes...sort of remids me of little girls at a tea party ;)

Mauro it's GORGEOUS but just like Stony said a bit too light for my taste. I prefer the one with the darker color and light lip. Regardless of this it's still a beauty

Spring is just a few weeks ahead here in the south hemisphere. Spring always brings an explosion of flowers, no matter where you are!! It is the colorful season!!

C. loddigesii 'Aranda' AM/AOS x self seems to be a popular cross. I've seen the seedlings for sale by several online vendors. I have one myself that I bought cheaper on ebay. It's an especially nice plant. A very vigorous grower with stocky pseudobulbs. It just initiated a sheath, but may still be too young to bud.

Thanks for the picture, Mauro. I've been looking for shots of flowers from this cross to get an idea of what I might expect. So far, they all look pretty good.

I had a meristemed plant of the original awarded loddigesii 'Aranda', but I guess I have made a mess with the pieces of the selfing. Some friends of mine asked me for a piece of the selfed (above) and I gave those I had... but I surely also gave the meristem thinking it was a piece of the selfing because I can't find it anymore in my grh!!! It is my fault, I know, but I hate when these things happen!!
