My 2nd Neo var. ???
2 Attachment(s)
Just showing off my wonderfully smelling second neo. It's roots are just amazing. Lovely purple ends to each extremity of the flower (except for the spur which is green). I'm not entirely sure what it is as it came without a tag. It might be Neofinetia falcata 'Shunkyuuden'. Anyone to confirm or deny this?

Hopefully Shannon (shakkai) will know. Notta for me.

Hi Richard! What a very pretty neofinetia. That's most definitely not Shunkyuuden. However, the purple in it is lovely!

It's for sure not a Shunkyuuden. . .those are white, no blue and are peloric.
The blue in your flowers suggests to me that it's a Neostylis Lou Sneary hybrid. . .no idea which one. I've got two: Kultana and Bluebird. . .both new for me. They haven't had a chance to bloom yet. These are both purported to have blue bits. Be very interested to hear what the others think! |
I'm with Gwen. Looks like a Neostylis Lou Sneary to me. Lucky you!!
:) |
Richard, that is beautiful and I agree the roots are amazing. I enjoy the roots of vanda type plants. What medium do you have in the pot?

Richard, that's a beautiful plant!! I'm with the others, its definitely not 'Shunkyuuden' - which is a peloric-type flower with extra flower parts as well. It is probably a hybird - Lou Sneary or similar. Have a look at some of the threads on the hybrids:

I don't have a tag for it and I just assumed it was a falcata var but Neostylis Lou Sneary is definately more likely. 'Colorful Blue' looks possible.
It's still in sphag but I'm looking at S/H for it when it's finished blooming. |
Very nice, plant, flowers and those roots look amazing
Nice growing ! |
