I am thinking. . ."Eat My Dust" is a very good name for a division that I am never gonna be able to afford! :faint:

this plant is on my wish list!

So what's the deal with this particular besseae, is it hardier? Or simply just a flawless flower formation? Or both?
|
It's a scam. There ain't no besseae worth even half that.

Bummer, I was about to buy it and it is SOLD OUT:-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
It was that or BMW:-))))))))))))))))))))))))))) |
Actually, there are plants that come from the Orchid Zone that really do sell for that much. And people pay it. Or, at least, they have in the past.
|
I know that there are plants out there worth that much that really DO exist. I just don't see it in a besseae cross unless it was entirely indestructible and producing new growth twice per week hahaha... Figured it would be more along the lines of something new, undiscovered that someone finds and breeds and keeps to themselves and creates a wonderful variation on that particular species that hasn't even been seen... Now that's something I would be more inclined to pay for/believe in the valuation.

Not going on my wish list, yes it is beautiful but not that beautiful.
|
besseae has produced a massive amount of hybridization, so a great breeding flower can produce expensive offspring.
That flower is very large, and has an exceptional shape. A breeding-level kovachii is probably worth 2-5x as much, because that would add the 'new' factor, even more so than besseae. |
