Very tiny bugs

Well I finally got bugs (or at least this is the first time my old eyes have seen any.) Today, while watering, I saw 2 kinds. Both extremely tiny and fast. One was white or transparent, the other was dark and looked like a very tiny beetle. Neither were larger than 0.5mm. I sprayed with a Safer insecticidal soap product. The orchids did not seem none the worse and in fact, these were only in the pot and medium. I saw 4 at most but take the adage that where one there are many.
Any thoughts?
Nick
PS: too small and too fast for photos.

I too would like to know what those very tiny little black beetle looking things are!

90% sure you have one (or 2) of two types commonly plagueing orchids: Shore Flies and/or Fungus Gnats. Here is a link: Insect and Arthropod Pest Identi Scroll down to "Fungus Gnats and Shoreflies. Hope this helps.
