REPOTTING THE DENDROBIUM

I, JUST AQUIRED A DEN.ITS THE TYPE THAT BLOOMS FROM SPIKES OFF THE TOP OF THE CANES. IT IS POTTED IN LARGE PIECES OF SOME TYPE OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE WOOD INSERTED VERTICALY AROUND THE POT. THE PLANT IS OFF CENTER IN THE POT,BUT APPEARS TO BE DOING FAIRLY WELL.LOTS OF VISABLE WHITE ROOTS THOUGH.PLANT IS NOT IN BLOOM AT THIS TIME.REPOT OR LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE?ONE LAST THING IS THIS A HARD OR SOFT CAINED PLANT?

it sounds like it is potted in orchid bark(possibly fir). to be sure and in order to tell you if it needs repotting could you post a picture?

Does it look like it's planted in the cracks of a large piece of wood? I saw some orchids planted this way several years back. It looks like someone split a 4x4 or something similarly. Bonsai is right, you might need to take some :photo:
