Milt. Bluntii

I got this plant Tuesday night at the local orchid society meeting. the grower said it was a primary cross and that he wasn't sure of the parents. it has nine bloom spikes and has multiple rhizome leads.it has outgrown its 8 inch pot by two inches and i plan on mounting it after it finishes blooming. even though it needs repotting i think it was a good buy at 10 dollars!

Very pretty for sure, lucky you! :D

That is a wonderful flower. The plant kind of looks like one of the hawaiian giants. Some freinds went there recently and visited a nursery that had plants just like that one, twenty thirty growths with dozens of spikes that were destined for the trash because they were too large for them to sell.., didnt make sense to them so they bargained them out for five bucks a piece. I dont see how they are not worth selling, they can pass them off as near specimens for a discount. but what ever. Nice find.

Very nice plant. I was guessing there was spectabilis in it's background and I was right. Very nice primary!
Milt. Bluntii = Milt. spectabilis x Milt. clowesii |
i still can't get over the spots! it looks like someone took a paintbrush and put blotches on each of the flowers. (by the way, two more of the spikes opened up!)

Congrats on the good buy. The markings and the color are beautiful, I put it on my wish list.
|
