I have a few of them but they are reluctant bloomers for me. You should try B. falcata, it is smaller, has similar flowers, and IMO is a much better bloomer.

I have had mine for 2 years and it has bloomed for me just fine. I do give it a rest in winter so the bulbs shrivel some and that seems to bring on the spikes.
I also grow all of my bulbo's in brighter light than is required (not sure if that makes a good or bad difference, but they seem to be able to deal with it just fine)

hi Laura, i have a maximum and a falcata - when you give the maximum a "rest" for the winter, what do you do? just restrict water a bit? restrict fertilizer? thanks!
