Hi, just arrived & having a look around...

Hi,
I am a novice orchid hobbyist, feeling confident about beginner orchids and beginning to move into serious collecting. But keeping the numbers down: space and budget are limited! That makes it a challenge, which makes it more fun.

:hello Dsm and a warm :welcome: to OB. You'll love it here on OB. Lots of fun members with loads of good information on everything you ever wanted to know about orchids. Oh and BTW, there's no such thing as "not enough space" You'll find the space.

Hi and welcome! I'm pretty new here myself! Good to have you with us! Beware, though- There's no such thing as limiting your orchids. They ARE addicting!

I think that orchids in general conspire ...a conspiracy to help those incredibly beautiful "creatures" to procreate until they take us over!...That's is why we cannot just have one!..there must always be one more!.. (Well it's late!..)LOL

:hello

Welcome to Orchid Board. It is really good. I am like you as I only have a smalll orchid house, and I don't have squillions to spend buying everything that comes my way, but it is a good idea to take it slow and keep a small collection in good nick. When I first started with orchids, I grabbed everything I could get my hands on, cos they were all beautiful and eventually I had large losses because of my inexperience and also because of the ongoing drought we have here in Australia so good luck.

:goodluck:

wow... I feell guilty that I did not check back right away, what a nice welcome! :gh

I have been down with a summer cold, but also have been spending some time learning the whole internet-video thing. :photo: I'm not a "quick study" on this, but I have been wanting to do painting-demos for a long time, especially with my orchids. I just put my first effort up tonight, in my blog: Orchids: The View From My Windowsill

That is the best way to get to know me because you can see my growing space as well as my dorky style! I have to cut a lot out of the video because I did not consider that most of the time the camera was just getting the back of my shoulder :_(
