This is the latest addition to the greenhouse,
Attachment 16300Attachment 16301 it's hard to believe this came from C. bicolor albina x self, which is all green with a white lip:Rozanski Orchid House, Pinellas Park, Florida, 727-235-3291

Jasen, that's lovely! :cloud9:

Gosh! That's a pretty one. You should be proud.

Very pretty Jasen!
I think with breeding statistics only 1/4 of the babies would be albina, even when bred to itself...

Absolutely beautiful! I love this species. Very nicely done, Jasen.

Jasen, please don't take this as an offense, but as a sincere contribution. There are two things a little different in your flower. I think I see a prominent side lobe in the lip, partially involving the column (first picture). I am not sure by the picture, but if this is the case, it could not be C. bicolor which has no side lobes. These small side lobes are vey common in the primary hybrids involving C. bicolor. Also (though less important), the color seems too much in the purple side instead of the characteristic brown, bronze or green of C. bicolor. So, if you acquired a selfing of C. bicolor albina maybe the nursery has made some mistake? Again, please, take this as an honest contribution.

Good eye, Mauro! That's hard to see in that picture. I have seen a few varations of C. bicolor that do have those lobes, brasiliense for one example. They do have another C. bicolor on the website, other than albina: C. bicolor 'M. Carmelo' x C. bicolor 'Belo Vale'. Maybe this is it's parentage, and the numbers got mixed up....or, anything's possible, maybe it is a hybrid! Jesse Rozanski and I figured it was just a rare color form....he was reluctant to sell it to me. The plant came in a huge shipment of species plants from Brazil.....so, who knows, maybe you know where it came from! It's not yours, is it? At any rate, it's beautiful, with great form...and it has found a new home. Oh, and no offense taken, you're experienced input is always welcome. Here's a better pic:Attachment 16364
