orchid leaves and flowers falling off
Hello. I'm new to the group and the reason I'm posting is that my husband got me 4 small orchids last week...they were delivered by UPS in a tall, cardboard box. After freeing them, I place them in an East-facing window. There was still some hint of moisture in the medium, so I didn't water them right away. One of them immediately started losing it's blooms and then several leaves. After a week, 2 others have started to turn brownish. I added a little water yesterday, hoping that it would help. Can you advise me as to what to look for next? I want to save these beautiful plants, but they didn't come with clear instructions, and I'm not even sure which type of orchid they are. I appreciate any advise you can give me to get started, but it might be urgent at this point.

It sounds to me like they were exposed to really extreme temperatures en route.
Personally, I'd contact the vendor - who apparently didn't package them properly for the trip. |
