Hi everyone,
Since I'm new to OB, and new to orchids, in general...I want to share my small collection with you...in hopes that you won't mind taking a look at them and please let me know if you see anything that needs to be changed about the way I have them potted/mounted, or whatever. I've read different things on the net about care of them, but I'm sure I've made lots of mistakes, anyway. I'm too clueless to even know what the mistakes are, so I would appreciate your input. It seems to be a trial and error thing with us newbies.

Another thing, this is my first post with pics., so please overlook any mistakes....just chalk em up to "lack of OB knowledge" lol. I have about 20 or so pics to share, so since I can't include all of them here in this thread, I'll start another one and post the remainder of my pics there. Thanks.
Vicki

I think they look beautiful Vicky. But being a little new myself except for tying them on tress and forgetting them. I have a question for Dorithy and Susanne since you are much more knowledgeable and experienced.
A. Don't vandas need more air circulation then they are going to get in pic#2. Also pic number five isn't that pretty deeep in there? Ok that's 2 questions? Again Im not nitpicking just want to learn more myself. Thanks

There are certain chids in the vanda family that can be potted. My Asctm ampullaceum is one of my best plants and it looks the same as in picture #2 above.

There is also a lot of talk recently about growing vandas in vases...you'd think "No Way!" but nope...it seems to be working really well for some folks! Amazing!

I think the plant in pic 5 could maybe be a little higher in the pot but the plant looks happy so unless there's a problem, I'd leave it alone.

Vicki, A big welcome to the OB. Your collection looks great, very diverse and interesting. They all look very healthy so you must be doing the right things. Congrats! You're very lucky to be able to have your orchids outside.

:)

Beautiful setup and beautiful plants. They all look content and happy.

I love your vanda box. It is so unusual and I see no reason that it shouldn't be completely happy there as long as it has good circulation, which it looks like it has.

Marilyn
