This is a real cutie - creeping, succulent foliage, rounded leaves, the flowers are cinnamon-scented.
A friend (who apparently has my number) gave me a little division of this a few years ago, and it waxed and waned for a couple of years. Cultivation success (for me) is dry and bright/sunny in winter, and wet and shaded during the other 10 months...it is on a piece of grapewood. That's a big name for a little plant!

Really nice, Nancy. Can we see the whole plant please? Some of us mini growers like to see the whole presentation :)

Nice cute little bloom on that one! Nice growing!

The plant is quite small, each leaf about the size of a fingernail. Apparently tasty, the squirrels (tree rats!) keep chewing the foliage.

Very VERY cool little plant, Nancy! I've added it to my wish list...lol

I have problems with the darn tree rats too!!! UGH!!!

Very cool! I wonder under what alliance it belongs. I've never heard of this one. You have to give credit to what ever naturalist found this one in the wild. Such a small plant can be easily over looked as a weed.

I think Meiracyllium is in the Epidendrum family. Good thing shows generally have a "miniatures" class, because I'd hate to put one of these up against some big honkin' alatum!
If memory serves (which it often does not), this is native to Mexico and parts of South America. Luckily for me, heat-tolerant.

I remember this little cutie from a past thread - http://www.orchidboard.com/community...endlandii.html
The end of it's classification is -
Family: Orchidaceae
Subfamily: Epidendroideae
Tribe: Epidendreae
Subtribe: Meiracyllinae
Genus: Meiracyllium

can we see a picture of the whole plant, with or without flowers? Im also very interested in the plant itself.

Very cool! I love this little guy! With how small the plant is, how noticeable is the scent?
