Newbie from Denver
 

Heyya all, I'm so glad I found this site. After admiring orchids forever and sadly killing a couple of them, I'm jumping in again. With new found love and a great desire to built an orchid tree (saw Lorraine's thread from last year....GORGEOUS!) I'm hoping to learn tons and hopefully get some of y'alls successful-orchid-growing-mojo.

Oh, Dorothy is one of the moderator's here and her MOJO is fantastic! She also loves 'nubbins' and you can't go wrong with a girl like that! :rofl:

Hello Laurie, worry not, as Lecent said, we all have killed a couple 'chids, but you'll see that there at the OB you'll find the advise you need to grow them sucessfully, I know I have :blushing:

Thanks for the love, everyone :) I made a trip to Fantasy Orchids in Louisville today, added two more, it's late, I'm tired so their names are escaping me. The husband is working on a big terrarium and I hope to have pics soon.

We're practically neighbors! I live up in Bailey but work down in Denver.

I buy most of my orchids online but in town, I get most of mine from Fantasy Orchids or Paulino Gardens! They have a pretty good selecton but to find the really special ones, you'll need to try Andy's Orchids & Oak Hill Gardens. You might not think so but orchids can be shipped with great success.

Cool about the big terrarium in the works! And just so you know, we're going to need photos.

AND we're going to need to know what you picked up at Fantasy Orchids, pictures would be nice here too. roflolol
