Selling seedlings to cover costs

Hey all you propagators out there! :waving HELP! I just can't control myself, and keep buying flasks. I think to myself, "ooo, I like that one" but then I wind up with WAY too many! So I posted some classifieds to try to downsize, cover some costs, and spread the wealth a little. I got them all from AJ at the Orchid Seedbank Project. Great flasks! I recommend him.

I listed them for $1 each, and I'll toss in an extra just for insurance. It doesn't get much cheaper than that! (and plants don't come much smaller either) I would have thought there would be more of you that would love to get a few seedlings without having to buy the whole flask, but so far I haven't gotten that much interest.:scratchhead:

So, I figured I'd post a thread here just to 'shake the tree' so to speak. Some of you may never even look at the classified section, but I know you love seedlings!

I have a few others that I didn't post, plus I have a few more coming. Let me know if you're interested.

Later,

The price sure sounds right, even if you've never tried seedlings or propigating. My question is seedlings of what? Is it a surprise? Is it a certain type of orchid? Excuse my ignorance but I don't know anything about flasks or anything. Im lucky I got my children dressed for school. Pics?

No, it's not a surprise. I have a couple of ads posted in the classified section of the OB. You can go check out the photos of what I have there. I have a bunch of the Gongora chocoensis and Oncidium sphacelatum. There are fewer left of the Cattleya deckeri, as I sold 5 already. I do have a few others (a few Stanhopea, Cats, Laelias) but not tons, so I didn't post ads for them.

If you wanted to try your hand at seedlings, this is a good opportunity to give it a whirl without having to buy a whole flask (or three or four). If you want something small but a little easier, try a few of the SLC Jewel Box clones. They are a bit older and stronger at this point.

Yeah, I thought the price was right, but maybe people are skeptical when it's so low. I do know that you can't go anywhere and get four different orchids plus shipping for a ten spot. Oh well. They'll find a home eventually.

Thanks I'll go check out the ad.

What other Laelias will you have available? :hmm
Is Catt deckeri an easy bloomer?
Inquiring orchid minds want to know :coverlaugh:

Have any mini or small growers?

Which laelias do you have?

Swamper 06-17-2008 01:26 AM

I placed my order ;)
