Bc. Daffodil

This is an old primary of particular beauty (at least to me:) ) because of the color and the heart-shaped lip inherited from Rhyncholaelia glauca. It's a shame, but this breeding line having Rhyncholaelia glauca as a parent could have been more well explored than it has been, but this particular cross (Daffodil) has given some beauties like Blc. Yellow Imp and Blc. Twentyfour Carat.
Sorry for the poor photo (I miss the focus on the flowers...)

Hers seems to be a little lighter (or maybe it is the light in the background), but sure also a beauty!! This flower has generated so intense yellow progeny!!

I like both of them. The form of the flower looks quite unique.

I see a definite difference in the color intensity between our two chids, Mauro. Is the color in your picture the true color or did the camera/lighting make it a more intense yellow? The color is my picture is the true color and I'm wondering why there would be such a huge contrast between the two. If yours is truly that deep?, could it be the result of a cultural difference? :hmm

This is such a gorgeous chid...either way :D

The color you see is the true color, Susanne (I know that there are certain monitor color differences, but they must be of minor importance). I have seen some light colored Daffodil, some of them very close to the color of Rhyncho glauca and some others very close to Guarianthe (Cattleya) aurantiaca, a rich color similar to old gold. I had one of these intense, golden Daffodil, but lost it unfortunately. So, I think that the intensity of the yellow in this cross vary from clone to clone due to the genetic set each one inherited.
