to deflask or not !!

hey all i got a phalaenopsis flask recently by air mail and the bad transport takes poor care when the flasks arrived some had agar all over the place and my Question is....
to deflask or not to deflask!@ especially because its nearly winter in Australia!

Do you have a suitable spot indoors to deflask it? If not i don't think the agar being all over the place will be a major problem, just as long as no mould has gotten into the bottle.

hey i got a fish tank that is heated with water and there are only bottles of flask in therre which makes it humid and warm during the winter..

Hi , If the plants are jumbled upside down ect. and they are big enough (can you post a picture I would un- flask them . I grow flask seedlings in the house under artificial light . Gin

Ahh, now I see what you mean by 'heated with water'.

If the flask is all jumbled, I'd de-flask them too. The medium can cause burning if left on the leaves.

I agree with Royal they look big enough in the picture . Gin

hello everyone how annoying is it to find at least 3 flasks contaminated.. there is white mould growing and i recently deflasked 3 bottles and found that the roots of the phals have yellow and black i'm so dissapointed with what i got and they are meant to stay in bottles till spring i hope the other 5 stay clean my my.. how anoyying i've treated the seedlings with a fungicide and plant tranpirant (shock preventer) now im going to keep them in a fish tank throughout winter kept warm. i hope they dont die.

Can I ask why you're keeping the flasks submerged in an aquarium? I would have thought you'd have a high risk of introducing contamination in such a setup.
