Hi Joseph, try these links to get you started:
http://retirees.uwaterloo.ca/~jerry/orchids/compot.html http://members.cox.net/ahicks51/osp/...rmination.html The American Orchid Society has a good beginner book on it called 'Orchids from Seed'. Of course there is a ton of info on the web. |
thanks for the links.

Hwra Lava Burst Puanani
Hi Joseph,
I have tried to pollinate my Lava Burst several times and was not successful so far. Did yours work? There is an Austrian website www.orchideenvermehrung.at which has also very good instructions in English, I have successfully used them to pollinate and flask my Epi Green Hornet. Here also some pics of my Hwra Lava Burst Puanani |
Hwra (Leochilus x Oncidium x Rodriguezia) is an intergeneric. without getting into genetics, you will not get what you think from the seed pod, even if it is fertile. If you what the Lava Burst Puanani make divisions or find some place that will mericrone your plant. Growing the seedlings for 4 to 6 years to find out they are not the same would be very dissapointing.

Sometimes the plant is a triploid and it will not produce seeds.
