sick cymbidium
2 Attachment(s)
Hi all
my cymbidium is sick I attached some pictures Does anyone know what is the problem? |
Ronen,
Not certain but believe it is some kind of sun damage. The leaves are very green with black spots like a plant that was moved from a shady area into full sun (Sunlight should be increased slowly not all at once.) If a plant is watered in mid day sometimes the water acts like a magnifying glass and burns the leaves - the same thing can happon with insecticidal oils in full sun. Am well aware of the intensity of the sun in your country - my work took me there at one time and I lived in Hertzlea - it is ever more intense in other parts of the country. What part do you live in? |
That looks like sunburn to me. I like to grow mine under 50 percent shadecloth
|
I live in Petach Tikva near Tel Aviv
I did not move it ,but indeed the sunlight increase because we are close to the summer |
It would be nice to know how much luck you have growing cymbidiums in that location.Do you know anyone else growing cymbidiums? Is there an orchid society that you can belong too?
|
Hi
There is the IOS(Israeli Orchid Society) I post this question also at IOS site ,but I did not get any reply yet. I know that it is possible to grow Cymbidium at my area |
