18 Greenhouses of Orchids!!
 

I am very excited about the trip my hubby and I are taking this weekend!

My family has a cabin in NC and on the way, we will be stopping by Carter & Holmes in Newberry, SC for lunch and a tour....and a few dozen plants as well, I'm sure. I guess it's a good thing we have a new BIGGER truck to haul them all home in :rofl:

We will be taking TONS of :photo: . Does anyone have any requests?

I visited Carter and Holmes a number of years ago now, in a previous phase of orchid growing. It's a wonderful place staffed by great folks. Take along a hefty amount of money because you're going to find a lot of orchids you simply must have.

We got back from our trip about an hour ago and WOW...what a great place! Owen Holmes gave us a tour of the "stock" greenhouses and I was met at the door by a vanilla orchid that was growing *&%^ near the entire length of the greenhouse...I can't even BEGIN to tell you how fantastic that particular greenhouse was :shock: :shock: :shock: :drool: :drool: :drool:

As soon as I can get unpacked, I'll post the pictures my husband took...

Wowzers!!! :shock: Thanks so much for sharing! I LOVE that dark purple phal with the white lip. It reminds me of one called Hilo Lip. Very cool.
