Pendant Dendrobiums in Bloom
Dendrobiums with pendant, or drooping, inflorescences are especially appealing to me. They definitely add interest to my orchid garden, too :)

so pretty! How do you grow them?

All beautiful!

Sweet. Hanging spikes always attract me. A chrysotoxum gave me golden yellow flowers in a waterfall fashion. Enjoy.

Even though the winters down here in South Florida are fairly mild, I've also been giving these particular dendrobiums a brief, dry winter rest in order to help them flower better in the spring. That seems to be working very well so far. |
Oh that's interesting to hear, I have amethystoglossom, aphyllum and a few others but haven't been getting any blooms just lots of growth. How cold do yours get during winter? I'm assuming mine aren't getting cold enough and I'm probably not being tough enough about withholding water. How brief is your rest period? I'm growing indoors in California under lights so they never get that cold here. I'm planning to put them on a shelf with lights in the garage this coming winter.
