Cattleya condition rot on pseudobulb and yellow halfway up leaf

Does anyone know what issue this is on my cattleya? I will notice a leaf yellowing 1/2 way up and originating close to where it connects to pseudobulb. On further inspection I will notice a dry rot on the pseudobulb.

This used to be more common in my catts in winter. However, in past several years since started using grow lights, growing in warmer conditions, and careful to water sparingly in winter (around the rhizome and not on it), I’ve noticed I rarely see this problem anymore.

I must’ve been sloppy with watering on this one?

Thank you for your help!

You're not watering enough. It's extremely dessicated, dropping full growths to try and stay alive. Even in winter leaves should remain unwrinkled and pseudobulbs filled out.

Thank you ES. I was so worried i would overwater them in winter that I went too far in the opposite direction.

It takes a lot of gardening skill to bring orchids through a long, dark winter. I'm always impressed with people who grow in such conditions.

Thank you. Yes, your sunny AZ winters are very enviable to many of us growing in the northeast.:)
