white powder on orchids
 

this has probably been asked before but I can't find it what is the best way to get rid of the white powder for the orchids. I have several of the melatonin tenuifolia. I have separated them form the rest. I am having a lot of the orchids blooming this year, not sure why but I like it

Do you mean Maxillaria tenuifolia?

Can you post a decent photo of the white powder? Does it rub off easily? Top surface of leaves or all over?

Are you using a cool-mist humidifier, by any chance? If so, it could simply be mineral deposits from the evaporated water.

yes that's the name, I was mixed up a little. It rubs off easily and there is some on the leaves as well on the bulb and stem. not a lot but I want to get rid of it, I will try and get a photo, thanks for responding
