White bifoliata Cattleya
2 Attachment(s)
Good afternoon,
I have attached a couple of pictures of a Cattleya bifoliata that i have at home. It was a present and there was no tag involved, so that i don´t have a clue about what kind of hybrid might it be. I only know that is a bifoliata that sometimes flower twice a year, june and october. Now is resting from last repot (roots growing then) and i think its stablished, pseudobulbs are not shrinking, spray daily and water when dry. I expect new activity soon as with the day light growing, i have notice new green root tips in other cattleyas i have. Any one has an idea that what kind of Cattleyas are behind? Thanks in advance |
There are so many white Cattleya hybrids, no chance of getting an ID. It is beautiful! Just enjoy it.

It has both bifoliate and unifoliate ancestors. The open tube of the lip with column showing comes from species like C. loddigessii or walkeriana. The lip is more tubular than these, and the other flower parts more wavy and long, which shows unifoliate ancestry.

Thanks a lot.

Looks like Cattleya Atlanta to me.
