Dend. amabile

The local name is Pink Lantern Dendrobium. This is the first time for the seedling to bloom in my garden. The plant is now only 6" tall. As I know, the species can reach 2-3 feet if giving good care. The lareger the plant is, the more blooms it will have. I have another larger plant which is also spiking recently.

Those blooms are just so lovely!

I can not imagine being able to grow them outdoors in the garden!

We sure do live in totally different parts of the world.

Thank you for sharing your pictures!

Steve, I don't have large plant of this species.
But the link below is a photo of the mature plant of a friend. The mature plant is taller than the little girl.

So gorgeous, I just love nobile dendrobiums. Sadly, I don't have the means to bloom them.

Hi Neverend,
These species need a cold and dry winter-rest to initate their flowering and that may be a problem for you to bloom them.

Indeed it is, I cannot even bloom phalaenopsis like schilleriana without air-conditioning...

That's indeed a problem to deal with these orchids.
But in your country, you can grow a lot of vandas or other tropical lowland species that hate cold winter.
