Schoenorchis fragrans care and Schoenorchis seidenfadenii

Heya,

I am new to orchids and the board so sorry if this is the wrong place, kinda nervous posting here.

Anyways I had no idea there was a thing as miniature orchids but I fell in love with them so I purchased one from etsy and Schoenorchis seidenfadenii from another seller. I got them in a tiny terrarium that is inside a ikea table top greenhouse and I just want to make sure I am doing everything right or that it looks okay.

I tried looking up many videos and information but im so confused and worried im killing the little guys; they like drying out part. Like do I just make sure their roots are green? And should I invest in a little fan or keep the terrarium cracked during the day for airflow?

Temps are 76 and humidity is anywhere from 75-90 and i did get a light meter too. I hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum.

These guys really rot easily. Make sure they dry out between watering.
And you should definitely invest in a fan.

thanks so much i will go ahead and do that

:waving Welcome! Don't be nervous, we're all a nice bunch here!

Nothing useful to add since I don't grow these myself but be warned, orchids are addictive and this forum is very enabling

Welcome. I have two fragrans mounted and hanging in my grow tent under phal level light with a fan blowing across them. Temps 66-85F and humidity 55-75%. The roots dry out fairly quickly after watering. They are doing well.
Good growing.

The thing with closd glass thing is that they keep humidity and warmth stable. Everything fungi love. I don't suggest them unless you either
1) add ventilation like fans or something
2) make sure to do an air exchange pretty damn often, more so for smaller jars/things

I've had some miserable experiences with terrarium-style growing, and have only succeded this year when i included a double fan to suck out any stale air out. Without it, i would of been more prone to test lower humidity than chance a rotten plant.

I have actually planed to get either/or both species for my terrrium, just haven't gotten around to it.
