Roots on an inflorescence? Zygopetalum NOID

Has anyone else seen something like this? It looks to me like a spike grew roots. The base is slightly thicker than the rest, so maybe a tiny pseudobulb is buried in there somewhere.

It looks a lot like a Debbie de Mello, but the tag just said "exotic orchid".

It looks to me like the roots are coming from the same pseudobulb that is producing the inflorescence.

It's hard to photograph because it's so low in the pot, but I've included a couple more. Most are definitely attached to the pseudobulb, but I can see light hitting the pbulbs underneath the roots and spike as well. Maybe they're growing through the sheath at the base of the spike and the sheath just hasn't had time to yellow?
