phals in the window
brought these inside when it got cold late last year. they needed to come in anyway bec they were being mauled. you can still see some damage from caterpillars and snails.
grown in sphagnum in a plastic pot inside a clay pot. watered when moss is dry. use all the kelpak stuff on them. get bright morning sun until about 11. They stay between 72 and 78 degrees. I think they liked coming inside. https://photos.smugmug.com/After-ber...%5B1%5D-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/After-ber...%5B1%5D-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/After-ber...%5B1%5D-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/After-ber...%5B1%5D-X2.jpg just need a few more windows and wider too :) |

Love those shelves! I need to make some like them.
Nice phals too, they look super happy! I also tried mine outside and did not care for how munched they got, even on a second story porch. In my case it was vine beetles, I went out there with a flashlight and caught them in the act. Spoils my enjoyment of those shiny, fleshy Phal leaves. |
