Vanda Ruby Velvet
 

I have submitted several posts about this fantastic vanda plant. I have had this plant for about 4 years and it always reblooms. It is also my largest sized vanda that I have, and the blooms themselves are quite large. I am sure that my vandas love our hot humid weather in Thailand.

This plant has survived four major moves where I live in Thailand with five different homes.

The vanda itself is not registered. Again, in Thailand, ID's and names and registering them doesn't seem very important to many growers. But I am surprised that Kanjana Orchids in Bangkok has not registered this orchid plant. Kanjana is a very large and successful shipper of orchids all over the world. Kanjana owns a smaller company that sells retail online on Shopee and Lazada to the smaller individual persons like me.

I think this vanda orchid is magnificent and I wish it was registered. I know for sure Kanjana has been selling this plant for at least 5 years. Why they don't register it is beyond me.

Also, the plant reblooms often and the blooms themself last a very long time.

Beautiful, never saw blooms like this on a Vanda!

I agree with you. This vanda seems to be special. I will update a little bit later when the rest of the buds open.

I went outside this morning and took a few measurements. Each bloom is 4 inches wide. The entire group is about 10.5 inches across. It was very difficult for me to take measurements and take a photo at the same time. I apologize for the lack of quality.
