I have this Phal. Zheng Min Tyrannosaurus x Phal. The Dragon Tree Eagle hybrid here was gifted to me by my aunt. It was potted in bare sphagnum moss, but it was getting root rot, so I unpotted it and want to report it in whatever works best. I'd also like to know how often to water it as well. I live in Florida, so today, for example, the highest is 91 degrees, and the lowest is 76 degrees. What would you guys say I should pot it in? It gets hotter. I could also keep it inside, but it's usually at 70 degrees here. Please give the best advice on potting! Thank you

It will be much happier outside in warm, humid shade. You can use any medium with medium to large size chunks: Bark, LECA, volcanic cinders, pumice, mixtures. Phals. may be repotted at any time, unlike some orchids.

Sphagnum moss works well if watered properly. It should not ever be soaked completely. Just run water over the top for 1-2 seconds. Water again when the top is crisp dry.

Perfect! Can I use orchid bark?

Yes! A medium grade orchid bark will be perfect. Don't pack it in too tightly, you are aiming for humid air around the roots rather than wet or dry.

Fresh bark media can dry quickly and require watering more often than sphagnum.

Perfect! I’ll do that than!
