NOID mini phal
 

I don't normally buy orchids from IKEA, but yesterday I spotted this little solitary cutie (literally the only one) in their usual sea of Sogo Vivien's. Since mini's like this are typically flavours of white/pink/purple, I was curious about the yellow in the petals, and I was wondering if anyone had any guesses as to it's possible heritage?

Ofc, a noid is a noid is a noid, but I know that IKEA do tend to buy up those mass-produced hybrids that are named, so I was also wondering if anyone else had come across this one before?

You could have asked for a more detailed info about it when you bought it. Certainly they know where it was purchased.

There are now many crosses with ancestry from both the very round, white to pink Phals. and the star-shaped yellow through red Phals. This is one of them.

Thanks for the responses. I thought perhaps the contributors for yellow in these minis might have been a bit more specific. Nevermind.

rbarata, IKEA is nearly entirely self-service - there was certainly no one to speak with anywhere in the vicinity of the plant section, and check-outs are unmanned.
