A 1960s hybrid from Hausermann. Possibly grown for the cut-flower industry? Both plant and blooms are big. The flowers are between 7 and 8 inches wide, and the fragrance is very good and strong. Can't grow too many of these guys due to their size. But when they flower I tell myself that they're worth the space they require.

Maybe one of the Hausermanns was colorblind? Was finishing off a bottle of wine while filling out the registration paperwork? Had an odd sense of humor?
