New Plants at the Base of my Orchid?
3 Attachment(s)
I believe my orchid has two new plants growing from its base. Is this normal? I'm fairly new to orchids and I just love them, but I have a lot to learn.
|
Yes that is normal! Your phaleanopsis is growing two more growths. They can either grow more leaves on top and get taller and taller, or they can sprout new growths out the side like yours has. Both are normal ways for a phal to get larger.
Looks pretty healthy too, so keep doing what you're doing! |
Thank you, Louis, your kind words make me smile and feel good and give me confidence. I am new to the orchid society, just at a year, and all of my orchids have been purchased from the clearance racks at local big box stores and many were in strained condition.

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

Welcome to the Orchid Board, Miss G. Yes, that does look like a healthy Phalaenopsis you have there, one that is putting out two basal keikis.
