Selfing peloric orchid?

It's just a question to satisfy my own curiosity and I couldn't find a straight answer online.

What would be the expected result of selfing a peloric phal or cattleya (or any other orchid)?

Thanks in advance!

It might or might not take, and the progeny might or might not be peloric. There isn't any reliable way to predict the outcome.

But is there a higher chance that it will be peloric than if you were selfing a non-peloric one? If so, any guesses as to the probabilities?

I don't know the answer to either. I don't know whether the genetic cause of pelorism is well understood.

I know that Casa de las Orquideas has done some breeding of peloric Cymbiium. In this genus, selfing is more likely to produce pelorics than an outcross (I purchased some seedlings of an outcross, and they produced non-peloric flowers).

In Phalaenopsis, it is my impression that growers select spontaneous pelorics, and then meristem the desirable ones.

I am not aware of any Cattleya breeders, who pursue pelorics on purpose. Nor do I recall lhaving seen any meristems with peloric flowers.
