Warczewiczella amazonica x Amazing
 

This is my second rebloom of this vigorous plant. I put it through a lot of stress while moving and putting it outdoors. Once I have the space indoors, I hope to move it to the indoor greenhouse as it doesn’t tolerate the hot Chicago summer well.

if you keep it wet it can handle more heat than you can imagine.


edit i just reread the title more carefully- i thought it was amazonica x amazonica, which is what i have, I grow it in inorganice medium in a clay pot in a deep plastic dish, always half full of water.

if grows outside in bright shade and flowers pretty much all year as she likes

i dont know if your cross is as hot hardy

It may be just as hardy. The plant hasn’t sulked in the heat, I just notice a lot less root growth outside of the pot now that it’s not indoors. I’ll try to keep it more moist, as it’s in a net pot with half spaghnum. 90F at 40% RH might be frying the roots growing outside. Otherwise, the next fan has been developing no problem. It gets early/late direct sun, which might be too much but I don’t have anywhere better to place it for now.

I do want to try it in S/H, it seems like a great candidate.
