Rhyncattleanthe Love Triangle ..listed as overgrown
bought this from Krull-Smith earlier in the year. Listed as "overgrown in 6 inch pot". I should say so. Dropped it right into an 8 inch clay pot and it has given me 6 new growths. This plant has not bloomed and is huge. Hmmmmm. Coming from Krull Smith thats disturbing to say the least. Can they grow on an on and on and forget to flower? It might need much higher light and less water. ???? Its going to be a project plant for sure getting this one to join in the bloomin fun!!! :)

It has a lot of growths but I don't think it's old enough / growths tall enough yet to flower. I would also give more light.
In Vista, California, a climate not quite as warm as yours, Fred Clarke at Sunset Valley Orchids fertilizes Cattleyas with 1/2 tsp / 2.5ml MSU powder per gallon / 3.78 liters, 2-3 times per week, and only gives water without fertilizer once a month. |
Id hit it with more light. In my philosophy you should see red tinge and red dots on the leaves. That indicates a healthy amount of light. Also look for shorter growths (at first) with fatter pseudobulbs.

I put it out closer to the early morning full sun. Gets 50% shade clothed after that past noon. Ill have to watch it in case it gets the fat leaves too hot :)

I have this one from Krull Smith too. Its in the brightest spot in my grow room and no sheath on my first growths this year. It'll probably be another year based on your experience/plant size. Looking forward to seeing your bloom!!

Wow that's a happy plant. Can't wait to see the blooms!

Is it a seedling, mericlone or a division? The seedlings have varying flower colors.
