This Dendrobium is a miniature and is in section Stachyobium. Flowers are fragrant. Smells like coconuts! Flowers last about 2 - 3 weeks.

I'm trying to grow delacourii. Had it potted in small bark, clay pot and under growlights. Did nothing for sev. months and a tiny new leaf growth from base of 1 of the 2 pbs. yellowed and failed. Wondering if I watered too much or light was too intense. I've since mounted it on cork with some moss overlay and keeping it further below the lights. Tiny growth has developed at base of pb now. Gets room temp. but may need it warmer? Any thoughts anyone?

I also have 2 Den delacourii (section Stachyobium). They’re both doing ok so far.

Can you post pics of your Den delacourii?

Mine grows in pretty bright conditions - I would have to say the brighter end of moderate indirect.

I have them potted in small coconut husk chips. These can be grown mounted or potted, btw. Doesn't really matter.

During dormancy, they don’t get watered much. I don't really water them heavily until I see new roots. I let them dry out completely between watering.

I grow them indoors. Doesn’t get warmer than 80 F right now. Also doesn't get that cold in here because I can't tolerate indoor temperatures below 70 F . These can take temperatures down into the 40's F at night in actuality. If you want to grow it warmer than a low of 40's F, it's fine too.

Mine will probably bloom by mid to late July or something. When they do, I'll post.
