Mystery orchid from Quintana Roo, Mexico
6 Attachment(s)
Hello all,
I recently returned from a trip to Tulum, Mexico and saw some great orchids there. There was a ton of Myrmecophila christinae growing everywhere including all over mangroves. Unfortunately, none of the M. christinae were in bloom. Additionally, while I was at a cenote, I noticed a type of orchid that was in bloom. It looked like a type of Euchile but I am not confident on that. Any ideas on what type would be awesome! The last picture is one of the M. christinae but peep the mystery orchid hiding in its shadows. I am happy to share other pics if you all want. |
A species of Brassavola, these can be very hard to identify to species.

I can't say for sure but I think I recall Brassavola nodosa being fairly plentiful in that area. Certainly looks like it but I agree with Duck that most of them are tough to tell apart unless they are lined up side by side.
