I have a Cattleya Fordyce Fantasy. First time blooming for me. Have had it for two years. Grown inside. All the buds have blasted. Possible reasons? See picture.

What does the plant look like?

Possible causes of bud-blast:
  • Mites
  • Insufficient humidity
  • Insufficient water
  • Blast from hot air heater vent
  • Exposure to extreme cold
  • Ethylene gas, originating with dirty gas heater or ripening fruit
