Phalaenopsis gigantea
About 3 years in the making, from a decent-sized seedlings to a young adult.
I didn't measure scientifically, but the biggest leaf is about 30cm, or roughly 2 bananas. "Moody" pictures because I'm clueless with cameras but it turned out pretty decent  can't count on the sun for good natural light these days. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b7123213_k.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...5ff52226_k.jpg |
Love the moody photos!

nice man! glad to see you round these parts again...
also, per the rules, banana measures are to be restricted to reddit only  |
So great to see your gigantea in bloom!
|
It's beautiful
|
That's beautiful!! Do you know how long lived the blooms tend to be?
|
Thank you thank you!
Camille, flowers last about 3 weeks. They opened in "quick" succession, about 2 weeks from the first to the last. A few buds stalled when temperatures suddenly dropped, but they seem still alive. I'm hoping for a second flush of blooms in spring/early summer. |
