What are your favorite USA orchid nurseries in 2022?
There's a sticky in this forum, but most of the posts in it are 7-8 yrs old. Many of the nurseries are no longer still in business. Where do you guys get your orchids from now?

I’ve been very happy with Hausermann, Orchid Classics 4 You, and Louisiana Orchid Connection. I’ve only ordered from each one one time but they’ve all been great.

For species of any sort, Andy's Orchids (If you don's see what you want, ask them because the website has only about 20% of what they actually have at any time)
For miniature species, Tarzane Group Sunset Valley Orchids (listed above) also has great Australian (temperate zone) Dendrobiums along with the mini-Catts and Catasetinae. |
Waldor Orchids is only 1hr from me and fantastic with variety but Cattleyas are their speciality. Andy's, Hausermann, Tarzane and SVO have had my business too!
|
Adding to the list:
For Neofinetia & assorted miniatures: New World Orchids Cymbidiums, especially novelty hybrids: Casa de los Orquideas For an all-around assortment of [mostly] hybrids: Natt's Orchids I'll echo the others on Sunset Valley Orchids, Andy's & Louisiana Orchid Connection [with Louisiana, I find that the plants they offer on ebay are often larger/more mature that those they offer on their website...listings there are usually WYSIWYG :) ] |
Andy's, J&L and Hauserman always have interesting species that can be otherwise hard to come by.
|
Agree with others regarding Sunset Valley, Andy's, New World Orchids, Tarzane and Hausermann.
Adding: Tropical Orchid Farm Brookside Orchids Olympic Orchids...mostly seedlings but sometimes near blooming size Krull-Smith |
I get most of my orchids from Hausermann's. It seems that if I am looking for an orchid, they will eventually offer it on their website. Of all the orchid vendors I ordered from in the early days of my collecting, this is the only one that I think is still left...except J&J which has changed hands.
Some other places from where I have gotten nice orchids that I did not see listed (but are probably there somewhere): Exotic Orchids of Maui and Gold Country Orchids (Alan Koch). Orchids of Maui offer, mostly, small seedlings of good quality crossings and Gold Country Orchids is a good place to find smaller Cattleyas (goals...fragrance and more frequent blooming, though not all the Cattleyas succeed in this). I always got my orchid supplies from Roberts Flower Supply but Wayne Roberts recently died so that is no longer an option. |
SVO, H&R and Cal-Orchids for value. Orchid Classics, but only when they have the Phal. species deals during holidays.
Andy's, Tropical Orchid Farm and Louisiana Orchid Connection for rare species; though, in my opinion, they don't necessarily have the best value. Ecuagenera for specimen plants and medium value. It would be a high value, except there is a medium virus risk and therefore everything needs to be tested. There are some runner-ups that others have mentioned, like Hausermann, which I'd rate B for value on average, and most of their catalog are quite commonly seen. For orchid pots, I'd recommend ravenvision. They're in Canada, but even with the shipping they're cheaper than any vendor state-side. |
