black rot on vanda leaf
 

I picked up this Vanda a week ago. I'm not sure if this rot was there at the time, but either way it has definitely spread over the last couple days.

The problem is I'm at a loss as to how I should remove it without damaging the plant. The rot clearly extends just past the opposing, overlapping leaf, but that leaf feels too stiff to bend out of the way without breaking. Even were it gone I'd be a little worried about nicking the stem. Anyone have suggestions?
