What is this?
2 Attachment(s)
Received this Phalaenopsis "hotelensis" with a nasty looking black ring around what seems to be a flower spike. Any help identifying what it might be? I will be repotting this tomorrow and will see extend of damage but I don't see any spotting or yellowing leaves. Rest of the stem seems to be okay.
Would you treat with Physan 20 or Cinnamon spray (following First Ray's recipe) to contain the damage? IMG-1796 — ImgBB IMG-1797 — ImgBB https://ibb.co/BjPXmTj https://ibb.co/LvPxJMp |
Welcome to the board, Mateo.
Looks like a root or spike was emerging that later aborted. I doubt it's anything to worry about. |
Welcome to the Orchid Board!
Fungus is very rare on orchids growing in a building intended for humans. Most fungus requires high humidity. Not all fungi are susceptible to every fungicide, so don't use a fungicide unless you're sure you know which fungus you have, and you know the fungicide you have treats that fungus. |
